MotoGP: Honda and KTM are already eyeing David Alonso

In just two years, David Alonso has become a true revelation in the world of Moto3, breaking records and attracting the interest of big names in MotoGP. This young prodigy, born in Madrid but proudly representing Colombia, was crowned Moto3 World Champion this weekend in Japan, at just 18 years old. A feat which already positions him as the most successful rider in the history of the Moto3 category.

After breaking the records set by Pedro AcostaAlonso wasted no time in attracting the attention of MotoGP manufacturers. Brands are rushing to land this exceptional talent, and for now, KTM seems to have a head start. The Austrian manufacturer has a certain advantage: Alonso has raced for them before in Moto3, even under the name CFMotoand they quickly recognized its potential. With
KTM in the race, we imagine a futuristic duo formed by
Pedro Acosta et David Alonsoready to dominate the premier category for years.

Alonso doesn’t just shine on the track. His maturity outside of racing is equally impressive. This is evidenced by the emotional letter he wrote before the Motegi race, where he reflected on what this world title would mean to him. With strong relationships with legendary drivers like
Marc Marquezsome already see him as the next great heir to the Spanish pilot.

David Alonso will have to show in Moto2 that he is more Pedro Acosta than Izan Guevara

Japanese brands, in particular
Hondaalso follow the route ofAlonso very close. With the hope of finding in him a unique talent, Honda sees him as a potential centerpiece in their rebuilding process. However, KTM looks closer to sealing a deal, strengthening their dominant position and strong ties with the young Colombian, who has proven to be a true sensation.

But before dreaming of MotoGP, Alonso will make the jump to Moto2 with the team Aspar next year. A major challenge awaits him: avoiding the pitfalls that have slowed the progress of other talents like Be Guevaraand prove that his incisive driving style is perfectly suited to the higher echelons. In MotoGP, everyone is already fantasizing about their future, imagining the records they could still break and the impact they could have, not only for the sport, but also for
the expansion of MotoGP in South America.

David Alonso is a monumental hope for motorcycling, and if he stays the course, he could well become one of the great names in MotoGP history.
