MotoGP: Honda's record that Ducati could set at Le Mans

In 2024, Ducati has once again crushed the competition in MotoGP. The manufacturer has broken numerous records of domination by winning 19 times in twenty rounds, but could reach others in 2025.

Beaten by Aprilia during the Grand Prix of the Americas, the Bologna factory has since had seventeen consecutive successes. The longest series produced by a manufacturer in MotoGP. In the history of the discipline, the last manufacturer to have done better was Honda.

Between the 1997 Malaysian Grand Prix, and the Assen Grand Prix of the following season, in 1998, Honda achieved no less than twenty-two successes in a row. A dizzying score, largely fueled by the exploits of Mick Doohan.

Fifteen victories in this series were signed by the Australian, while Alex Crivillé (4), Tadayuki Okada (1), Max Biaggi (1) and Carlos Checa (1), also contributed to making it last.

Ducati to set a new record in ?

The New Zealander, Simon Crafar, known for his comments on the MotoGP channel, and future president of the FIM, came to put an end to the latter. He then found victory aboard a Yamaha at Donington Park, during the British Grand Prix.

In 2025, Ducati will try to join the Japanese brand. To do this, he will need to win the first five races of the season. In this way, if Borgo Panigale remains undefeated until the end of the Spanish Grand Prix, the Italian factory will be able to put a new mark in the record books. This opportunity would be given to him during the 2025 French Grand Prix (May 9-11).

For this to happen, Ducati will have to take its revenge on Aprilia during the Grand Prix of the Americas. A race that the manufacturer has not won since 2022, with Enea Bastianini. This victory is also Ducati's only one at COTA. Marc Marquez could, however, be a major asset for the brand. The Spaniard having won the event seven times during his career.
