Danilo Petrucci will participate in the 2025 Dakar, it’s official. This time, he will not race on a motorcycle, but in a truck. He will be a member of the Italtrans Racing Team – Rally Division with Iveco truck number 608. He will drive alternately with Claudio Bellina, while the navigator will be Marco Anoletti. The experience will be different from that of 2022, when he rode a KTM 450 Rally and, for his debut in the competition, he even managed to win a stage. As at the time, the 47th edition will take place in Saudi Arabia: it will start on January 3 from Bisha and end on January 17 in Shubaytah.
Italtrans, a leading company in road transport for mass distribution, and Prometeon Tire Group, manufacturer of tires for trucks, buses, agricultural and construction machinery, have renewed their partnership with a view to the 2025 Dakar Rally. Thanks to an exclusive agreement, Prometeon once again allowed Danilo Petrucci to participate in the prestigious competition.
The rider from Terni is the only one in history to have won at least one race in MotoGP, World Superbike, Dakar and MotoAmerica: he is considered the hero of the four worlds. The challenge on four wheels will be new, but it will be able to count on the experience and technological innovation of Italtrans vehicles, Bellina and its team, as well as the reliability of Prometeon Series 02 Rally tires, specially designed for heavy vehicles off-road competition.
Danilo Petrucci is very motivated by his new participation in the Dakar: “I am delighted to join the Italtrans crew. I can't wait to hit the track with Claudio Bellina. The Dakar is a fascinating challenge and I can't wait to experience it for the second time. I will have a lot to learn and I will give my best to help achieve a good result. »
