MotoGP statistics from the 2024 Barcelona GP
MotoGP broke a new attendance record in 2024. 3,033,255 spectators surpassed themselves on the twenty circuits on the season calendar. The record is still held by the French Grand Prix, which welcomed 297,471 people to the Bugatti circuit over the weekend.
Francesco Bagnaia has 11 victories in 2024, making it his best season in the premier class in terms of victories. The last rider to achieve 11 or more wins in a MotoGP season is Marc Márquez with 12 wins in 2019. The club of riders with 11 or more wins in a single MotoGP season currently only includes Marc Márquez (13 wins in 2014 and 12 victories in 2019) and Valentino Rossi (11 victories in 2002 and 2005). With Jorge Martín, he also achieved the most podiums in a season for a Ducati rider.
Marc Márquez stood on a podium for the 150th time since the start of his Grand Prix career. It is also his 111th podium in the premier category.
This is Ducati's 19th victory since the start of the season, extending the record for success in a single season in the premier class for a manufacturer. This is the 17th victory in a row for the Italian factory. Also, Ducati is the first manufacturer to achieve 17 consecutive victories in MotoGP. Honda is the last manufacturer to have recorded so many consecutive victories (22 victories between the 1997 Malaysian Grand Prix and the 1998 Dutch Grand Prix).
David Alonso won his 14th victory of the year, which constitutes a new absolute record in all categories. No one has ever had 14 wins in a single season. He is also the first rider to finish in the points in every race in a Moto3 season since Maverick Viñales in 2013.
