Jorge Martin will approach the final round of the MotoGP world championship with a nice advantage. While he was 24 points ahead of his rival Pecco Bagnaia before the last Sprint, in Barcelona, the Spaniard conceded five, finishing third, when the latter won.
He will therefore approach the last event of the 2024 season with 19 points more than Bagnaia in the Drivers' standings. While 25 will still be in play.
However, nothing has been done. To hope to lift the champion trophy this Sunday, there are only two options left for Pecco Bagnaia. He will have to win, or at worst, finish second.
One of the possible scenarios could result in the two drivers arriving tied for the championship tomorrow. As a reminder, this scenario would see the Italian pocket the title. The latter has the advantage of the greatest number of victories, namely 10 against 3 after 19 meetings.
