That's it, we're there! The final of this 2024 MotoGP world championship has finally arrived. This weekend, the drivers will begin the last round of this season. But before deciding the title between Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia, the teams left for the first running session with, on the program, 45 minutes of work, in order to find the optimum setting of the motorcycles. A few minutes after the start of these free practices 1, the Tech3 team got off to a very bad start, Augusto Fernandez and Pedro Acosta collided between turns 5 and 6. This accident caused the session to be interrupted with a red flag, therefore leaving time for the marshals to clean the track.

Upon resumption, the machines were able to carry out their test program without incident to hinder them. In the second part of this session, the best time fell several times into the hands of Pedro Acosta, Alex Marquez, Jorge Martin and Pecco Bagnaia. But at the end of this work session, it was ultimately Takaaki Nakagami who achieved the best time in 1:40:501, the Japanese created a surprise on the Catalunya track. He distinguished himself in front of the Mazarron Shark and Alex Marquez. As for our French, Fabio Quartararo and Johann Zarco finished outside the top ten, in eleventh and fifteenth place.
