Fabio Quartararo has been able to fight for good results in recent weeks. The Frenchman hopes to do the same in Barcelona this weekend, although he is particularly motivated by the 2025 pre-season test coming up on Tuesday. He will have the new Yamaha engine to test.
One last Grand Prix before an important test: “The last two (events) were better. We will try to continue this momentum a little bit. Afterwards, it's certain that I have my eyes more on (the test on) Tuesday than on the race. There are many things to do. We also have a new team (Pramac) which is getting started. We have quite a few things to try, so I really hope there will be some positives. »
A track with little grip, so it can be interesting for development: “This weekend, it’s definitely going to be less good to be on a circuit which is very complicated in terms of grip for us. On the other hand, seeing if in Tuesday's test we improve in terms of grip, that's where we will really see the difference. »
Yamaha on the right track: “In terms of the project, I think we have grown enormously from the start of the season to now, so I can't wait to see a little bit of the project that we will be able to develop, in particular the bike that we will have for the year next. (…) »
“I think I expected things to change a little bit more quickly. On the other hand, aesthetically we see that the bike has completely changed from the Qatar Grand Prix to now, and even in terms of riding. I think we have taken a very big step forward. Even if in terms of results, we don't really see it, but in the last race we see that we finished 5th in Malaysia. It's already much better so I think we are moving forward more and more. »
