Álex Márquez admitted a mistake at Sepang that caused him to lose time and a chaotic crash at the start.

Álex Márquez proved once again last Sunday that Sepang is one of his favorite circuits and that he was very competitive, but an error linked to too high tire pressure cost him time.

The Gresini Racing driver told reporters: 'Yes, it's true that during a race, I made a mistake and when I crossed the finish line, it was 0.3 or 0.2. The front tire was at very high temperatures, so I pushed for half the race and then tried to control it. I saw the podium very close, but Enea [Bastianini] had something more. So I was close, but our position was realistic.

Then he was involved in the crash involving Brad Binder, Jack Miller and Fabio Quartararo:

I was on the bend, I think Marc [Márquez] overtook me. I was following the line and then I felt a touch. I saw his suit was on the front wheel and I saw it was Brad Binder. Then he lost his line and fell. I had nothing to do with it, I was in front and it was impossible to control.
