What a start! While Jorge Martin already has a first match point for the world champion title, Francesco Bagnaia did not want to lose his chance, by being aggressive towards his rival. Both men got off to an excellent start, but collided in the first corner. What meters further, the catastrophe occurred. A big crash took place between the two KTMs of Brad Binder and Jack Miller, as well as the Yamaha of Fabio Quartararo. The Australian was transferred to the medical center to carry out extensive examinations.
Following this incident, the marshals waved the red flag and the race was interrupted for a good twenty minutes. The main event was shortened from 20 to 19 laps. At the end of the second start, Pecco Bagnaia jumped onto the grid, taking control. The Italian immediately took the advantage over the Pramac driver. The two contenders engaged in a chivalrous battle for first place, exchanging positions on several occasions.
On the fifteenth pass from the end, the Madrilenian calmed down and let the double defending champion fly away, so as not to take any risks. At the end of this completely crazy round, Francesco Bagnaia won with a comfortable lead of two seconds over Jorge Martin. Enea Bastianini came to take third place. For our French, Fabio Quartararo and Johann Zarco crossed the finish line in sixth and eleventh place.
