After a short break, MotoGP continues its tour in Australia, on the famous Phillip Island circuit. A track often cited as the drivers’ favorite, which will host the last series of races of the year, before the season finale in Valencia.
In the Drivers’ standings, Jorge Martin and Pecco Bagnaia start this round back to back, since the Spaniard’s lead has shrunk to ten points after the Italian’s double victory in Japan.
However, 148 points remain to be distributed, and everything is still possible for the two protagonists. They should also take advantage of the sequence of GPs in Australia, Thailand and Malaysia to mathematically exclude Marc Marquez and Enea Bastianini from the title race. The latter will continue to compete for third place in the Drivers’ ranking with as much intensity as their peers.
For his part, the Frenchman, Johann Zarco, will begin hostilities with a certain confidence. He who managed to put his experience to good use last year on a circuit he likes, to achieve his first victory in the premier category. The task will be more difficult riding a Honda than a Ducati. However, a big result cannot be ruled out for the Habs.
