Marc Marquez’s motorcycle catches fire in the middle of the race

While Marc Marquez was in 7th place in the Indonesian Grand Prix this Sunday, his bike suddenly caught fire 16 laps from the finish and the Spanish rider was forced to retire.

Very big scare for Marc Marquez. The Spanish rider was forced to retire this Sunday during the Indonesian Grand Prix after being the victim of a spectacular incident with his motorcycle. While he occupied number 7e place 16 laps from the finish on the Mandalika circuit, his mount suddenly caught fire, causing great concern.

Marc Marquez immediately left the track, before getting off his motorcycle engulfed in flames. And the fire was able to be extinguished by the security services using fire extinguishers. Ultimately more fear than harm, even if the Spaniard couldn’t hide his disappointment.

Starting in pole position, Jorge Martin never left the lead of the race to win ahead of Pedro Acosta and Francesco Bagnaia. With his 3e victory of the season, the Spaniard is now 21 points ahead of Francesco Bagnaia before the Japanese Grand Prix in a week.

Special mention for the French, who knew how to avoid pitfalls to finish in the top 10 with a 7e place for Fabio Quartararo, while Johann Zarco finished in 9e position.
