AS FAR wants to regain its title

After the 2023-2024 season which ended on a disappointing note with the loss of the title on the last day in favor of Raja Casablanca, AS FAR begins the 2024-2025 season of the Botola Pro D1 “Inwi” football with the hope of renewing with the national coronation.

Leader of the Botola last season, for long days, AS FAR had to finally give in to Raja Casablanca who won the championship title on the wire. The “Green and White” were crowned with 72 points, one point ahead of the Military, who nevertheless believed until the end in their chances of retaining their title.

Even though it lost the fierce battle against Raja for the Botola title, the military club did not disgrace itself by signing 22 victories, 5 draws, and only three defeats against Union Touarga (2-1/6th day), Olympic Safi (1-0/9th day) and Hassania d’Agadir (2-1/27th day).

The Rbatis could have taken their revenge against the same Raja two weeks later and won the Throne Cup (2022-2023 season), but ended up losing by a score of 2-1, letting two trophies slip away in the space of a few days.

For the 2024-2025 season, AS FAR hopes to initiate a positive dynamic, nourishing great ambitions to regain the highest step of the Botola podium after the title won during the 2022-2023 season.

In order to successfully complete its quest for the Botola title, the military club has decided to opt for a change on the team bench, securing the services of Polish coach Czesław Michniewicz on a two-year contract.

Michniewicz, who was in charge of the Polish football team at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, will have the difficult task of doing better than his predecessor, Tunisian Nasreddine Nabi, and achieving good results with the capital club.

In addition to the change of coach, AS FAR was very dynamic during the summer transfer window, strengthening its squad for the 2024-2025 season with no fewer than eight new recruits.

The Rabat club has thus succeeded in securing the services of Anas Bach from FUS Rabat, Youssef El Fahli (RS Berkane), Akram Nakach (Union Touarga) and Hicham Boussefiane (Wydad Casablanca).

In addition, four foreign players have joined the ranks of the Rbati club. These are the Congolese Henock Inonga Baka (Simba SC), Joel Beya (TP Mazembe), the Angolan Augusto Carneiro (Petro Atletico) and the Mauritanian El Hassan Houeibib (Al Zawra’a Sports Club).

In addition to these new reinforcements, AS FAR has extended the contract of its captain Rabie Hrimat for three additional seasons. At the end of his contract in June 2024, Hrimat, one of the pillars of AS FAR in recent years, will continue his adventure with the military club until 2027.

The capital club will approach the new season with the challenge of successfully integrating its new players under the leadership of a new coach who will be called upon to leave his mark on the team with his pleasant and effective style of play.

During the opening day of the Botola Pro D1 “Inwi” (2024-2025 season), AS FAR will travel on Friday, August 30, to the Chabab Mohammedia field.
