Las entries for Friday’s match against Paraguay in the qualifiers are sold out this Tuesday morning, after the announcement by Luis Suárez on his retirement from the Uruguayan national team.

There were 50,000 tickets on sale in total. Although the capacity of the Centenario stadium is greater, Conmebol reduced the capacity as part of a sanction against Uruguay.

After 8 a.m. on Tuesday, more than 50,000 people were trying to buy the remaining tickets for the Olympic stands online, with the most expensive tickets at $2,390 and some at $1,390, in addition to a few seats in Amsterdam.

By 11:00, the tickets were sold out. Only “exchange” tickets were available, not for the general public, as noted on the purchase website. The last remaining ticket available was for gate 10 of the Amsterdam Grandstand, but it was sold out within a few minutes.

By 11:00 a.m., more than 60,000 people were trying to buy, but everything was sold out to the general public.

In the last few hours, tickets for the Colombes and América stands were sold out.

On Friday, the Centenario stadium will be packed from end to end to watch Suárez’s last match in the shirt he wore for 17 years, and which led him to go down in history as the all-time top scorer with the Celeste: 69 goals in 143 matches.
