Luis Enrique denounces Dante’s “aggression” on Hakimi

At a press conference this Sunday, after PSG’s draw in (1-1) at the end of the seventh day of Ligue 1, Luis Enrique wanted to return to the tensions between Achraf Hakimi and Dante. According to the Spanish technician, the Nice defender deserved to be sanctioned for his kick on the Parisian side.

The PSG players were “not really into it” by Bradley Barcola’s own admission in the first period in Nice, in the closing match of the seventh day of Ligue 1. If the Parisians snatched a 1-1 draw afterwards a much better second period, they delivered a difficult and tense first act. Like the altercation between Dante and Achraf Hakimi.

“It would have been easy to complain but my players didn’t do it”

“I am proud that after a bad first half, my players maintained a positive state of mind. There was an attack on Hakimi which deserved to be analyzed, but it was my players who received two warnings. It would have been easy to complain after that, but my players didn’t do it,” Luis Enrique said in a post-match press conference.

The Moroccan full-back collapsed to the ground, screaming in pain, after a duel with Dante along the touchline, shortly after the half-hour mark. In the slow motion images, the Nice defender unleashes a kick in the leg of his opponent. Involuntary according to the Aiglon, who pleads having aimed the ball. Furious, Achrah Hakimi strongly protested. Too much according to referee Jérôme Brisard, who sanctioned him with a yellow card which Dante did not receive. Marquinhos, annoyed to see his teammate get so tense, played his role as captain by intervening but also received a warning for this same action.
