The National University of Education, affiliated with the Moroccan Labor Union in Khenifra, denounced what it described as “nepotism and clientelism” that accompanied the process of selecting participants in the teacher’s forum in Khenifra District.

She called for clarifications about this selectivity, as she criticized the Ministry of National Education, Primary Education and Sports, accusing it of systematically selecting participants in the forum that was held in Rabat on the 25th and 26th of last month, where it considered that 3,000 participants, including women and men in education, were chosen based on inappropriate criteria. Transparency by ministry officials at the directorate and academies levels, in addition to granting huge financial compensation to participants from outside Morocco.

In a related context, the union’s regional office in Khenifra denounced the deprivation of a group of educational institution directors who manage more than one institution of their mobility compensation. He called for accelerating the disbursement of financial dues related to educational support.

The union expressed its dissatisfaction with the absence of serious solutions to these issues, stressing that it will not stand idly by in the face of this situation, calling on the responsible authorities to intervene urgently to correct these imbalances.

The union also called on the regional director to provide the necessary office equipment to run educational institutions, especially at the beginning of the school season, in addition to providing sufficient quantities of cleaning materials, security guards, and cleaning ladies to ensure the protection of educational institutions and the preservation of their environment. She stressed the need to activate Memorandum 103/17, which regulates the relationship between the sector and unions, and stressed the importance of finding practical solutions to the problem of overcrowding and shared classes, to ensure the quality of education within institutions.

As part of its solidarity with men and women of education, the union announced its support for the regional secretary of the National University of Education in Azilal against what it described as “irresponsible behavior” on the part of the regional director of the ministry. She also expressed her solidarity with a teacher who was deprived of the position of director of Moulay Rachid High School for reasons that she considered “false,” noting that this decision reflects the absence of the principle of equal opportunities and the adoption of nepotism and clientelism in assigning positions of responsibility.
