Following this matter closely and being directly concerned, I fully align myself with the position expressed in the press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Morocco is not a party to this matter.», Underlined Sidi Hamdi Ould Errachid, president of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, in a statement to the press.
According to the president of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, the European Union is facing an unprecedented challenge. “It is also important to recall that the European Commission and the High Representative for Foreign Affairs of the European Union regularly highlight the crucial importance of the EU’s strategic partnership with Morocco, a partner they consider to be “ essential and important”», he added, pointing out that the content of this decision contains obvious legal errors.
Sidi Hamdi Ould Errachid also recalled that Spain, in reacting to the decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), defended its “strategic partnership» with the Kingdom and its desire to maintain it, as well as the “profits» which it brings to the fishing and agricultural sectors. The country affirmed that it will continue to “work with the European Union and Morocco to preserve and continue to develop this privileged relationship».

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as a reminder, affirmed in a press release that Morocco considers itself in no way concerned by the decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union rendered on Friday concerning the agricultural and fishing agreements.
Reiterating its constant position of not subscribing to any agreement or legal instrument that does not respect its territorial integrity and national unity, Morocco demanded “that the council, the European Commission and the Member States of the EU take the necessary measures to respect their international commitments, preserve the achievements of the partnership and provide the Kingdom with the legal security to which it is legitimately entitled, as a partner of the EU on several strategic issues».
