The Iraqi Shiite leader, Abu Alaa al-Wala’i, leader of the Sayyid al-Shuhada Brigades faction, threatened to strike the UAE if a comprehensive war broke out in the region.
Al-Walaei said in a statement through his account on the “X” platform: “The Islamic Resistance in Iraq considers the UAE to be the advanced location of the Zionist entity in the Gulf, and the first target line for resistance fire in the event of a comprehensive war breaking out.”
Al-Wala’i warned the UAE that “the missiles of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq and its drones, which have now reached deep into the Zionist entity, will make it very easy for them to reach alternative locations of the usurping entity in the region.”
Al-Walaei’s tweet sparked widespread controversy on social media, as supporters of the Popular Mobilization Forces supported it, while others attacked him, claiming that the first and last goal was to strike the Israeli occupation only.
The “Sayyid al-Shuhada Brigades,” led by al-Wala’i, is an essential component of the “Islamic Resistance in Iraq” that constantly targets Israeli sites.
Abu Alaa Al-Wala’i, along with his group, is listed on Washington’s terrorist list. His real name is Hashem Bunyan Al-Sarji. He previously said: His faction, “Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada,” is a Shiite ideological formation directly linked to the Velayat-e Faqih in Iran, and is not affected by political changes in Iraq.
This is not the first time that “Abu Alaa Al-Wala’i” has threatened to bomb the UAE, knowing that he previously threatened to target Saudi Arabia as well.
