Five matches on the program and with varying fortunes for the rest of this first day of the qualifiers for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025.

DR Congo 1-0 Guinea
Goal: E. Kayembe 27′

For this remake of the quarter-final of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2023, the Congolese have once again won the bet. Thanks to Edo Kayembe, Sébastien Desabre’s men pocket the three points of victory and launch their qualifying campaign perfectly. For their part, the Guineans will have to redeem themselves against Tanzania.

Tunisia 1-0 Madagascar
But : F. Sassi 90+8’

In the 98th minute of the match, Rôrô Rakotndrabe’s protégés succumbed on the wire, despite the fact that the only goal of the game was scored by Ferjani Sassi. The Tunisians, who had participated in the last World Cup, seem to have had difficulty getting rid of the Malagasy team, despite their experience in high-level international competitions. The Malagasy defenders held firm to prevent Tunisian advances. However, many believe that the Tunisians benefited from certain refereeing decisions, which would have disturbed the Malagasy coach, leading to errors in time and player management.

South Africa 2-2 Uganda
Goals: L. Foster (14′), T. Mbatha (90+5) for South Africa/ D. Omendi (51′), R.Mato (53′)

South Africa managed to equalise in the last minute against Uganda. After Lyle Foster opened the scoring in the 14th minute, the Ugandan players took the lead in the second half with two consecutive goals in the 51st and 54th minutes. However, Thalente Mbatha brought Bafana Bafana back to 2-2 late on. Meanwhile, although a late goal from Kevin Denkey in the 79th minute put the pressure on, Liberia managed to equalise with a goal in added time (90+2) against Togo.

Togo 1-1 Liberia
Goals: K. Denkey (72′) for Togo / W. Gibson (90+2) for Liberia

After a tough match, Togo were the first to take the lead in the 78th minute, thanks to Denkey. However, Liberia managed to restore the balance in added time with a goal from Gibson in the 90+2nd minute.

Sierra Leone 0-0 Tchad

Sierra Leoneans and Chadians draw 0-0.
