This Wednesday, Sudan won against Niger at the Juba stadium, in the first match of the qualifiers for the TotalEnergies Maroc 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations.

In the first round of qualifying for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025, Sudan beat Niger 1-0.

Abubakar Issa scored the only goal of the match in the 51st minute, giving his team three valuable points as they make a good start to the qualifiers.

The match was marked by some offensive attempts from both sides, but the attacking elements of both teams failed to score more goals in the match, especially from the Nigerian players, who tried to respond to the Sudanese goal, but without success.

This victory allows the Sudanese team to temporarily rise to the top of Group VI with 3 points, while the Niger team finds itself in the fourth and last position without any points. Niger will travel to face Ghana in the second round on Monday, September 9, just like Sudan who will travel to Angola. On Thursday, September 5, Ghana and Angola will face each other in the same Group G match, starting at 16:00 GMT, promising a very competitive encounter.
