As part of the Olympic Games, its price was increased to 4 euros, in order to finance the additional supply.
Good news for occasional users of Parisian public transport: “From September 9, transport ticket prices will return to the level before the Paris 2024 Games”recalls the RATP on its website. From now on, everyone will be able to buy Navigo week, day and station visit passes again or directly from the Bonjour RATP application. So many tickets that were no longer available for sale since July 20, except for beneficiaries of the Solidarité Transport pricing.
Thus, from Monday, the book of 10 tickets will once again be sold at the price of 17.35 euros, instead of 32 euros during the Games. Just like the Orlybus and Roissybus tickets serving the two airports, once again sold at 10.30 and 14.50 euros respectively, compared to 16 euros during the Games.

A necessity to avoid “embolisms”
As a reminder, the president of the region and of Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM), Valérie Pécresse, had justified the implementation of a metro ticket price “Olympic special” at 4 euros by the need to increase the frequency of lines by at least 15%. The offer had thus been increased by 23% for eight lines serving the Olympic sites, up to 70% for three particularly busy lines (metro 9, RER A and RER C).
Highly criticized at the time after the announcement of this increase, the elected representative from the Paris region defended herself by explaining that the price of a single ticket had been set at only 4 euros. “so that no one buys it” and thus avoid the “emboli at the counters”. People from the Paris region without a subscription “only have to subscribe to Liberté+, the online post-payment service”to pay “at the best price, 1.73 euros, the following month”she had advised.
