Among the most significant seizures, we note the confiscation of 6,665 vehicles prepared for smuggling, with an estimated value of 296 million dinars.
The main goods seized in 2023 include 22.6 kg of gold worth 3.5 million dinars, 643,000 psychoactive drug tablets and 24.5 kg of cannabis. In addition, customs services foiled attempts to smuggle Tunisian currency worth close to 5 million dinars, as well as foreign currencies worth 6.7 million dinars. More than 3 million packets of cigarettes and hookah tobacco were also intercepted.
The seizures also concerned various goods, such as ready-made clothing worth more than 14 million dinars, as well as more than 1,000 tons of contraband food products worth 3.3 million dinars. of dinars.
Furthermore, customs seized significant quantities of smuggled copper, worth 15.7 million dinars, and vehicle spare parts worth more than 6 million dinars.
