In this case, five people, aged 23 to 33, are referred this Monday, December 23 before an investigating judge for violence leading to death without intention to cause it, complicity, aggravated willful violence and failure to assist anyone in danger, reports François Schneider, public prosecutor of Reims to BFMTV.com.
The beaten victim
On Friday, December 20, an argument broke out after a drunken evening with friends in Tinqueux, a town located near Reims. The subject of the dispute concerns “the behavior of a guest towards a young woman”, explains the public prosecutor of Reims.
The guest leaves the party then returns with several people. They then beat the victim, a man in his forties, who fell to the ground. On the ground, he receives blows again. Treated by emergency services, the man died in hospital.
Interviewed by the police, the alleged perpetrators of the attacks “do not really contest them, but contradict each other on their seriousness”, reports the magistrate. They are referred this Monday, December 23 “as well as two young women who accompanied them”, concludes the magistrate.
