Wednesday, December 18, it was time for the last municipal council of 2024. There were big smiles in the assembly. Léonie Pawlak, Adèle Gendry, Léonard Rabier, Eléna Le Roux-Mantois, Léana Clénet, Olivia Rainjonneau and Anouk Corta Blondet, seven Lagordais students from the CM2 classes of the Treuil des Filles elementary school and the Jean-Guiton college, studious , introduced themselves to the major municipal elected officials, beaming with the next generation.

These young people therefore constitute today the new Municipal Youth Council of Lagord. After campaigning through a profession of faith, the candidates learned the results of the votes (121 ballots in total) and their election from Mayor Antoine Grau.

A nice opportunity for a meeting with the lucky winners and their “proud” parents.

Then, it's time for the presentation of scarves and elected official cards, with each elected official speaking about their motivations. We must admit the seriousness of young people's demands. The chief magistrate turned to Samantha Chervet, the municipal youth youth delegate, to thank her for the establishment of this Municipal Youth Council. He expects a lot from them, promises to listen to the relevance of the projects and the feasibility of the requests in correlation with the proposed budgets.

The first meeting of the municipal youth council will be held on January 11 in the village hall of the town hall. This first meeting will be an opportunity to understand how the missions of a young elected official work, to create the first commissions by grouping the ideas of young elected officials into themes and to work on the first ideas for projects in the municipality.

Resignation

The Municipal Council recorded the resignation of Philippe Guignouard for personal reasons; he was in charge of town planning, green spaces, communal buildings and the cemetery. He remains on the municipal team as an advisor. The Council voted for his replacement by secret ballot. 23 votes were cast for Gérard Bacles, elected unanimously. He becomes the 7th deputy in charge of school affairs.
