Installed in the old museum opposite the Joséphine-de-Beauharnais garden, the Tribu Yonnaise opened its doors on Thursday December 19. After the establishment of Les Herbiers, the new brewery in La Roche-sur-Yon is the second address in Vendée under the concept of “La Tribu”.

In the heart of La Roche-sur-Yon near Place Napoléon, Tribu Yonnaise has just opened. Four years after its closure, the site of the old museum comes back to life with this brewery with a surface area of approximately 800 m2. On the rue Clemenceau side, the entrance to the brasserie allows you to immerse yourself directly in the kitchens. Facing the counter, around thirty places allow customers to eat facing the cooks. The other pieces each represent a country: Spain, Russia, Egypt… “We keep the soul of the place with multiple paintings as a nod to the old museum”explains Idoia Hemery-Dreyfuss, manager of the brewery with her partner Sacha Wrobel.

Birth of the concept “La Tribu” at Les Herbiers
A cocktail bar on the first floor
Around forty employees will run this new living space, open seven days a week, with 180 seats inside and an outdoor terrace with around a hundred seats. Around fifteen dishes are on the menu, “with local and 100% homemade products”, in a price range from €15 to €40. Upstairs, a cocktail bar, open from 5 p.m. to midnight, is accessible from rue Jean-Jaurès. “The grand period staircase is a reminder of the past and the outdoor terrace doubles the capacity depending on the season,” explains Sacha Wrobel, son of Eric, well known in Nantes for his restaurant Prison du Bouffay.
Second restaurant for the “La Tribu” concept
If the young entrepreneurs, familiar with the catering profession, remain discreet about the investment, they readily concede that “the launch of the Tribu Yonnaise is quite a challenge after the crush and the four years of setting up the project”. The “La Tribu” concept is available in Vendée for the second time after the opening of a similar establishment in Les Herbiers in 2023. “The objective is to succeed in this challenge by establishing a lasting presence in the Yonnais landscape. But the Tribe can still grow if opportunities present themselves”concludes Sacha Wrobel.
