Kent Hughes' visit seems to have really done Ivan Demidov some good.
After ending his 12-game goalless streak on Thursday by scoring a nice goal past Kent Hughes, the CH prospect was back in action today.
The Saint Petersburg SKA faced the Vladivostok Admiral starting at 9 a.m. this morning, and for the occasion, Ivan Demidov was listed on the team's third trio.
And for a second game in a row, Demidov found the back of the net, this time with a one-timer, to score his 8th goal of the season.
Demidov therefore scored a goal in a second game in a row, which is really good for his confidence.
Kent Hughes' trip to Russia seems to be paying off at the moment, as the young Russian prospect is finding his feet again after being manhandled by his coach during several matches.
Demidov is finding his ice time more and more acceptable, while today, after two periods, while SKA is behind 2 to 1 in the score, he had already spent 9 minutes and 45 seconds on the ice.
In recent weeks, we had become accustomed to seeing this ice time after three periods and not two.
To give you an idea, in the last match, during which Demidov scored in front of Kent Hughes, the CH prospect played 9 minutes 47 seconds in total in the match.
In short, things are better with Demidov currently, and we can only be excited and impatient to see him at work next season in Montreal.
