A 21-year-old young man died on Friday November 1 around 5 a.m. in front of a nightclub in Bernolsheim after receiving a stab wound to the chest. A petition calling for the closure of the establishment was launched after the tragedy.

The Mille Club, a nightclub in Bernolsheim (Bas-Rhin) where a 21-year-old young man was stabbed to death during Halloween night, is subject to an administrative closure imposed by the prefecture, announced the establishment this Friday, December 20.

“Following a prefectural decree, our establishment is subject to a temporary administrative closure,” writes the nightclub in a press release published on its social networks. “We thank you for your understanding and loyalty.”

On the night of October 31 to November 1, the Bas-Rhin firefighters intervened in the early morning in the parking lot of the nightclub to rescue a 21-year-old student suffering from a “stab wound to the chest”. The man ultimately died on the spot.

Two people in pre-trial detention

Shortly after, a first suspect surrendered to the authorities, a second was arrested. The first was indicted for murder by a person while drunk and driving without a license, the second for complicity in aggravated murder. They were placed in pre-trial detention. The judicial investigation is entrusted to the research brigade.

The nightclub, which has a license to accommodate up to 1,500 people, organized a special evening to celebrate Halloween.

Several people who spent the evening in the establishment told AFP about crowded premises in which security was no longer ensured, believing that the maximum capacity had been exceeded. Videos showing altercations and violence between partygoers circulated on social networks in the following days.

A petition calling for the closure of the establishment was launched after the tragedy. She collected more than 2,100 signatures.

The establishment remained closed for two weeks after the tragedy, by decision of the managers, before resuming its activities.
