French Cup. FC Rouen logically loses in the 32nd final against Lille

Never two without three? For the third time this calendar year, FC Rouen welcomes a Ligue 1 club in the Coupe de France, this Friday, December 20, 2024. During the previous season, FCR achieved the feat, in quick succession, of defeating Toulouse (then the defending champion) then AS Monaco.

For this 32nd final against Lille (in an atmosphere that promises to be heated), the step seems even higher. The Northerners recently beat Real Madrid and Atlético de Madridin the Champions League, and are quite simply undefeated since September 17, in all competitions.

Reasons to believe in the feat? Part of the Red Devils squad who experienced the 2023/2024 epic is still there. They know this kind of confrontation. Lille, for its part, has already played 25 matches since the start of the season and the players will be on vacation as soon as the match ends this evening. Perhaps we can hope that Bruno Génésio's players will already have the lead at Christmas…
