EU apple prices increased by 4.3% year-on-year in November 2024, with regional variations






Apple prices experienced varied trends across major European markets, reflecting local market conditions and production dynamics. In November 2024, the average price of apples in the European Union (EU) remained stable at €96.2 per 100 kg compared to the previous month. However, prices were 4.3% higher than in November 2023 and 23.5% above the five-year average. In particular, Poland recorded significant price growth, with an increase of 7.4% compared to October and 21.7% compared to November 2023, attributed to strong domestic demand and export activities .

On the other hand, saw a drop in apple prices, of 3.1% compared to October, and remained slightly below last year’s levels. This decline is linked to higher production volumes responding to stable domestic demand. Meanwhile, Italy saw slight price increases, with November prices increasing 0.6% month-on-month and remaining relatively stable compared to the previous year, benefiting from strong export demand for higher quality varieties.

Germany showed a mixed trend, with apple prices down 1% compared to October but up 4.8% compared to November 2023, reflecting a balance between supply in the local market and demand at export. These regional variations highlight the complex interplay between supply, demand and export factors that shape apple markets across Europe.
