In Spain, a murder was solved thanks to a photo from the famous Google Street View application. We see a man slipping a body into his trunk.
He distrusted the police but hadn’t thought to distrust Google. A man suspected of a murder in Spain is photographed by a Google Maps car which was then mapping the village. There he is on the internet in a photo, putting a bag in his trunk. For the police, this may be proof of a murder. In northern Spain, a 33-year-old Cuban was missing. The police suspect his wife and her lover. The investigation takes them to a village of 50 inhabitants. Walking through the images captured in October, they search the streets for clues, a trace of the suspect’s red car. They spot her in this alley, and as they approach, they recognize the suspect, the woman’s lover.
The bag he is loading may contain the victim’s body. The evidence the police were missing was available to anyone on the internet. Based on the suspect’s statements, the police searched a cemetery and dug up a torso which could be that of the victim.
