30 years of criminal imprisonment required, on appeal, against the three accused

Last day of the trial, this Wednesday, December 18, of Jean-François Nabarlas and his sons, Abraham Garcia and John Nabarlas, where the father, once again, took responsibility for the death of a 75-year-old retiree, in his house in Passage-d’, in 2020

The positions of the accused remain the same, before the Gers Assize Court, for their appeal trial. As in September 2023, where Jean-François Nabarlas was sentenced by the Lot-et-Garonnais jurors to 28 years of criminal imprisonment, and his sons John Nabarlas and Abraham Garcia to 22, the patriarch reaffirmed his sole and complete responsibility in the gestures under which Piechocki, 75, died by strangulation on March 10, 2020, in her house in Passage-d’Agen.

The responsibility of John Nabarlas and Abraham Garcia was limited, according to family members, to the use of the bank card stolen from the victim to buy, in the hours following the crime, three pairs of shoes, a t -shirt at Sport 2000 in Bias and a meal at the nearby McDonald’s.

An incident, however, disrupted the rehearsal of the debates, at the time of the requisitions for thirty years of criminal imprisonment for the accused, identical to the first instance. Me Martial, counsel for Abraham Garcia, noted the mention of new elements highlighted by the prosecution, without respect for the contradictory debate. The court agreed with the defense lawyer.

The jurors left to deliberate at 5:15 p.m. The verdict is expected in the evening.
