The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested two individuals from Hearst in connection with the death of a 7-year-old child more than 2 years ago.

On July 1, 2022, the PPO went to Place Charbonneau, where officers found the child suffering from serious injuries.

The child died two weeks later in hospital.

Following a lengthy investigation, police arrested a 25-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man on Monday.

They face charges of manslaughter and failing to provide the necessities of life.

They were due to appear in court on Tuesday.
