When they are sufficiently striking, it sometimes happens that certain opening sequences of films trigger real phobias in their spectators. Thus, it is not uncommon for us to think back to the traumatic introductory scene of Jaws before dipping our toe in the water. Or that we think fondly of the first minutes of Cliffhanger when we consider doing a little climbing.
Deadly Roller Coaster
As long as you like amusement parks and are a fan of the Final Destination saga – a true slasher classic that enjoys killing its protagonists in the worst possible circumstances – it is likely that the prologue of the third opus will ring a bell with you still a little in your head every time you’re about to board a thrill ride.
Released in theaters at the beginning of 2006, Final Destination 3 opened with a fairly spectacular sequence in which the scene was the slightly (much) rusty rollercoaster of a funfair. Young Wendy Christensen, accompanied by her friends, was preparing to board the train car when, as is traditionally the case at the start of Final Destination, she sensed a terrible catastrophe and saw all the passengers on the roller coaster die in a nightmarish accident. .
A traumatic scene
Despite his recommendations, his friends boarded anyway, and obviously, things went wrong. Directed by James Wong, the sequence is indeed enough to give a cold sweat to spectators who do not particularly appreciate attractions of this type.
With oil leaks, squeaky rails and completely rusted chains, the anticipation of disaster is undoubtedly the most tense and unbearable part of the scene. As for the rest of the sequence, where the passengers’ cries of excitement give way to real screams of horror, he sees all the poor teenagers who had the misfortune of venturing into the horrible place die one after the other. merry-go-round.
Accentuated by particularly distressing sound effects and bloody visual effects, the introductory scene of Final Destination 3 is definitely not to be seen again if you are planning a trip to an amusement park in the near future.
