Results of the ADF/Dentsply Sirona Thesis Prize 2024

The 27th edition of the ADF/Dentsply Sirona Thesis Prize has just rewarded four young doctoral students who defended their dissertation in 2022 or 2023.

The ceremony took place on November 29 in the presence of representatives of the ADF and Dentsply Sirona, as well as Professor Jean Valcarcel, president of the jury.

A first prize selected from 68 candidates including 12 auditioned

Julien Delhom (UFR of odontology of ) received the first Research prize for his thesis in oral biology. He wins the sum of 1,600 euros and will be able to present his work on “ cellular engineering of the periodontium by autologous transplantation of mesenchymal cells from adipose tissue: proof of concept on a preclinical model of spontaneous canine periodontitis » at the annual meeting of the American Association for Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR) in San Diego in 2026.

Other distinctions

Vanessa Biascamano () was awarded the second Research prize for her work on “ the development of a predictive model based on craniometry to determine the vertical dimension of occlusion using the ear-eye/nose-chin distance in the French population ».

In the category of theses relating to “sscientific subjects, cases or clinical and/or medical situations of interest », the prize was awarded to Marion Crest () for her work on “ periodontal regeneration of infrabony defects using hyaluronic acid: narrative review of the literature and presentations of clinical cases ».

Finally, Simon Girardin () was awarded the “ Subjects in human sciences, cultural or related to the environment or professional context » for his thesis on “ the installation of young dental surgeons in under-resourced areas: current state and regional results of a nationwide observational survey. The different levers for boosting the attractiveness of a territory through local examples ».

Registrations are already open to all doctoral students for the 2025 edition.
