Zelensky presented the Victory Plan: 5 points and 3 secret annexes

President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke today, October 16, at the Verkhovna Rada to present the plan for victory in the war against Russia.
Ukraine’s victory plan consists of five points and three secret annexes. “The first point is geopolitical. The second and third points are military. The fourth point is economic. The fifth point relates to security,” Zelensky said.

The first point of the plan is the invitation to Ukraine to join NATO. Zelensky expressed his expectation of such an invitation “now”: “We understand that NATO membership is a question of the future, not the present. But Putin must see that his geopolitical calculations are doomed to failure. The Russians must feel that their tsar has lost geopolitically. I thank all our partners who argue that inviting Ukraine to NATO now, with membership later, strengthens everyone. The invitation – it’s a strong decision that only requires determination. »
The second point concerns defense. Zelensky identified as the key to this point:

the successful continuation of operations of the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine in defined areas of enemy territory, in order to prevent the creation of buffer zones on our soil (this refers in particular to the operation in the Kursk region carried out by the Ukrainian armed forces);

the irreversible strengthening of the positions of the Ukrainian Defense and Security Forces and the destruction of Russia’s offensive potential on the occupied Ukrainian territory;

assistance from partners to equip the reserve brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces;

strengthening the air defense of Ukraine to a level sufficient to protect Ukrainian cities and villages from Russian missiles and drones, as well as joint defensive operations with European neighbors to shoot down Russian missiles and drones in the protection zone partner air;

expanding operations with Ukrainian missiles and drones, as well as investments to increase their production in Ukraine;

the lifting by partners of restrictions on the use of long-range weapons throughout the territory occupied by Russia in Ukraine and Russia, targeting military infrastructure, and the supply to Ukraine of long-range missiles, drones and other necessary weapons;

the provision of satellite data and real-time intelligence by partners.
The third point of the plan concerns deterrence, in particular the establishment in Ukraine of a non-nuclear strategic deterrent set, sufficient to protect Ukraine against any military threat from Russia. This item includes a secret annex already transmitted to the leaders of the United States, the United Kingdom, , Italy and Germany.

The fourth point concerns strategic economic potential, including joint protection with allies, investment and exploitation of Ukraine’s critical resources. “Ukraine is rich in natural resources, including essential metals worth trillions of US dollars. These include uranium, titanium, lithium, graphite and other strategically important resources that will strengthen in global competition either Russia and its allies or Ukraine and the democratic world. Critical resource deposits in Ukraine, as well as Ukraine’s crucial potential in energy and food production, are among Russia’s key objectives in this war,” Zelensky recalled. Thus, according to him, Ukraine offers the United States and certain partners — “including the European Union, of which Ukraine will be a part, as well as other global partners” — to conclude a special agreement on joint protection of critical resources in Ukraine, joint investment and exploitation of this economic potential. This economic aspect of the strategy includes a secret annex, transmitted only to defined partners.

The fifth point, post-war, concerns the replacement of certain American military contingents in Europe by Ukrainian units after the war with Russia: “We plan, in the event of agreement with our partners, to replace certain military contingents of the armed forces American units deployed in Europe by Ukrainian units. After the war. The Ukrainians have proven that they can be that force that Russian evil cannot defeat. And I thank every partner – everyone with whom we discussed this post-war perspective – for their respect for the Ukrainians and our ability to be invincible in an alliance with our partners. »

Russia launched 136 drones on Ukraine overnight: air defense shot down 51 drones, 60 lost in location

On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, October 16, the Russian aggressor attacked Ukraine with 136 kamikaze drones. Ukrainian air defense destroyed 51 of them.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.

The Russians struck the Donetsk region with an S-300/400 anti-aircraft guided missile from the temporarily occupied territory of the region, and the Chernihiv region with an X-59 guided air missile from the Kursk region, Russia.

In addition, the occupiers launched 136 drones from Kursk, Orel and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

Aviation, air defense forces, electronic warfare units and mobile groups of the Air Force and the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling the attack. Due to the active use of electronic warfare, 60 Russian drones were lost in location in various regions of Ukraine.

The Air Force noted that more than 20 drones were still present in Ukrainian airspace. Two enemy drones returned towards the attacker.

Director of the Center for Military and Legal Research Oleksandr Musiyenko analyzed the effectiveness of Ukrainian air defense systems during Russia’s attack on 130 Shahed drones on the night of October 16 on Radio NV. “I would highlight the uniqueness of this attack – the Air Force officially reported that 60 drones were lost due to the use of electronic warfare systems. This is probably a record, because previously such a number had not been mentioned. This means that Ukrainian forces have made significant progress in using electronic warfare systems to counter Shahed drones,” Musiyenko said.

HUR liberated 400 hectares of forest in the north of the Kharkiv region, almost a regiment of occupiers was destroyed

Units of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine (HUR) successfully carried out an operation to liberate a forest area located north of the settlement of Lypsti in the Kharkiv region. During the operation, almost an entire regiment of Russian forces was destroyed.

This was reported by HUR on Wednesday, October 16.

The operation was carried out by the HUR active action units of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Artan, Kraken and the International Legion.

During the operation, Ukrainian intelligence forces captured an enemy defense zone, destroyed three motorized rifle battalions, the “Storm” unit and a reconnaissance company of the 7th motorized rifle regiment of the 11th army corps of the Russian Armed Forces.

In addition, during the assault actions, Ukrainian intelligence forces captured Russian soldiers. HUR said that after the clearing of the 400 hectares of forest, the situation of the Russian army north of Lypsti had become “critical and almost desperate”. The successful mission creates conditions for a future withdrawal of Russian occupation forces from the northern Kharkiv region.
