A quarrel on the road turned into a horror. A cyclist died late Tuesday afternoon in , hit by a car after a dispute with the driver of the vehicle, AFP learned on Wednesday from the prosecutor’s office, which opened a murder investigation.

The cyclist, aged 27, died “on the public highway, boulevard Malesherbes” in the 8th arrondissement, “at 5:45 p.m., after a dispute with the driver of a vehicle”, according to the Paris prosecutor’s office, confirming information from the Actu17 website.

A road incident before a violent quarrel

According to the first elements collected by BFMTV, the cyclist was traveling on the cycle path when the 52-year-old motorist cut him off and caused him to fall. The victim then got up and banged on the hood of the SUV to express his anger.

Quickly, the tone rose between the two people and the driver restarted his vehicle and intentionally drove over the cyclist. He was pronounced dead on site shortly after the tragedy. The motorist was subsequently arrested at the scene. His teenage daughter, born in 2007, was in the vehicle.
