It’s going to plummet again this Thursday… Météo France has renewed the Orange vigilance for thunderstorms and rain-flooding in the Alpes-Maritimes.
This vigilance will start at 12 p.m. and continue at least until midnight, both for thunderstorms and for precipitation.
According to the meteorological services, possibly strong thunderstorms are to be feared in the coastal departments from Hérault to the Alpes-Maritimes.
Accumulations of up to 100mm expected in the mountains
And to warn that the accumulations of rain under these storms could be significant, with high intensities occasionally. Be careful though, the situation remains very uncertain.
In the department this new stormy rainfall episode could lead to accumulations reaching 70 to 100mm in the mountainsas well as on the middle country and the baoues, indicate the services.
On the coast, the accumulations should overall be a notch lower, but a risk of stationary storms is present. Accumulations locally reaching 60 to 80mm in a short time are then envisaged.
Improvement is expected in the evening, middle of the night.
