Coal mines are indispensable in Ukraine. Without them, part of the population will not be able to heat themselves this winter. Russia regularly targets these energy structures.
Coal mines in Ukraine are recognizable by their tall chimneys. An elevator provides access to the well, a dizzying descent up to 470 meters underground. In these galleries, many men who have not been mobilized to fight, because their work is considered essential for the country.
The location of these galleries must remain secret, because the Russians regularly target Ukrainian energy infrastructure as winter approaches. One of the miners was employed in another mine, which has since been destroyed. This was before the enemy advanced towards the East. Among these “black faces”, we also find women.
