Murder in Saint-Lin–Laurentides: “He shot the victim in the head” before her eyes

Neighbours who witnessed the murder in Saint-Lin–Laurentides, where a man in his fifties was hit by several projectiles in broad daylight on Wednesday afternoon, recount the sequence of events.

In an interview at VAT Newsa neighbor said she “heard two gunshots” when she was outside in the courtyard of her home at around 3:30 p.m.

“I got up and went to where the mailboxes were and there I saw that there [le suspect] fired two shots at [la victime]she says. He [le suspect] had the gun pointed at him.”

The neighbor reportedly approached the victim to help him. “He [la victime] He was talking to me, he was saying, ‘Go get help, go get help.'”

She also mentions that the suspect was nearby when she approached the victim. “I told the suspect: ‘Get out of our house,'” she said.

The suspect allegedly drove off “crazily” with his vehicle, only to return a few moments later. “He came back a second time and then he shot the victim in the head,” she continued.

Another resident of the neighborhood mentioned that her “children were panicking” when they heard the gunshots.

“It was when we came back and I saw that he [la victime] was on the ground, I said to myself: ‘Something really serious is happening,'” she says.

She also said she saw the suspect “get out of his car confidently” and “finish the job».

The victim was pronounced dead once he was at the hospital.

Investigators from the Sûreté du Québec are still looking for the murder suspect.
