Five years after the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Switzerland yesterday inaugurated a center intended to meet the health challenges of tomorrow. “Born from the lessons of the Covid-19 crisis”, the Center for Pathogen Bioinformatics (CPB), placed under the direction of the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB), aims to strengthen the genomic surveillance of epidemics, to support research on pathogens, and to inform public policies in this area.
The opportunity to review lessons learned from the pandemic and take stock of existing tools to protect the population in the face of emerging health threats in the company of Aitana Neves, expert in clinical bioinformatics and director of the CPB.
We won’t be able to prevent future pandemics, but we will be able to monitor them more effectively.
