In Oise, an investigation opened after a mayor was threatened for not having invited an RN deputy to his wishes

The mayor (without label) of the commune of Cuise-la-Motte (Oise), Renaud Bourgeois, filed a complaint after being threatened on social networks for not having invited the National Rally (RN) deputy to his greeting ceremony of the constituency, Frédéric-Pierre Vos, learned Agence -Presse (AFP), Monday January 20, from his lawyer and the prosecution.

“My client has received numerous threats, including death threats” on social networks, underlined his lawyer, Me Baptiste de Fresse de Monval. According to him, the threats appeared following a video published online by Frédéric-Pierre Vos, in which the deputy for 5e Oise constituency complained “for not having been invited to the vows ceremony” by Mr. Bourgeois, organized on January 10.

Mr. Bourgeois filed a complaint on January 13 and was placed under police protection, said his lawyer, deploring that Mr. Vos did not “in no way dissociated from these threats”which “is not likely to put an end to cyberharassment which [s]“Our client and his family are victims”. An investigation is underway to “identify individuals who have posted comments subject to criminal law”for its part, declared the Compiègne public prosecutor's office to AFP.

In his video of January 12, Mr. Vos criticizes Mr. Bourgeois for having invited to his wishes all the personalities of the department and the canton, except him. “This way of doing things is a real affront to the 60% of voters who voted for me” in the second round of the legislative elections, he is indignant. Asked by AFP, Mr. Vos, himself a lawyer, said on Monday he was convinced that the complaint would “to pschitt”the comments not containing, according to him, direct threats addressed to Mr. Bourgeois.

“It’s me who was offended and it’s me who must apologize, it’s the world turned upside down”protested the far-right MP, believing that” it is necessary that [M. Bourgeois] understand that we are here for a long time”he insisted, criticizing the fact that many of his RN colleagues are not invited by other elected officials either.
