The agreements in principle were reached before the holiday season. Members’ meetings to decide on these began on January 2.
There are 7,500 across the country, members of the Union of Canadian Correctional Officers, attached to the CSN. The union specifies that 4,600 members participated in the various assemblies.
Negotiations lasted two years, which means that the four-year collective agreement will expire next year, on May 31, 2026.
The new employment contract provides for increases of 15.73% over four years, in addition to other monetary gains affecting compensation and allowances, underlines the union.
-It also includes an increase in certain bonuses, as well as an increase in certain leave.
