Tambacounda, January 17 (APS) – The deputy governor, responsible for the development of the Tambacounda region (east), Diarryatou Ndiaye, proceeded on Friday to the installation of the regional disability management committee, noted the APS.
The establishment of this committee is part of the implementation of the National Action Plan on Disability 2023-2027 and the project on assistive technologies.
“This committee is established to monitor the programs and projects of the State and its financial and technical partners concerning the management of disability in the Tambacounda region, particularly in terms of inclusion, socio-economic well-being and access. to basic social services,” she said.
Speaking during the establishment ceremony of the said committee, in the governance premises, she assured that it is called upon to become a tool for monitoring, monitoring and evaluation of projects and programs of the State and its partners in the Tambacounda region.
“It is a multisectoral committee chaired by the governor and the regional director of social action which acts as rapporteur […] “, she indicated.
It also brings together “all the actors involved in disability management, including associations of people with disabilities,” she noted.
Diarryatou Ndiaye indicates that “the committee is always ready to be mobilized to monitor the action of state programs on disability management”.
-According to Colonel Seydina Ousmane Ba, director of the National Orthopedic Device Center in Dakar, the installation of regional committees can be explained by the numerous changes that have occurred in Senegal, especially a new framework for public policies.
“With the new public policy framework Vision Senegal 2050, the lethargy of the 2013 committees which unfortunately failed to play their role, the arrival of new partners and technicians with a new vision, it was important to put in place these regional committees,” he explained.
“The establishment of these regional committees allows people to take ownership of the issue of disability to move towards the sustainability of everything we have to do,” he assured.
