The case of the body found on December 24 in a bag inside a box in Mulhouse (Haut-Rhin) has reached a new turning point. The victim's ex-partner and two children, aged 19 and 22, were arrested and placed in pre-trial detention. “Three people were arrested and placed in pre-trial detention,” said the Mulhouse prosecutor’s office, confirming information from RMC.
The victim's ex-wife, tenant of the box where the body was discovered, was quickly interviewed by investigators. She admitted to having hidden the body of her former husband in this space, the rent for which had not been paid since June 2021. She was incarcerated on December 28.
Both children acknowledge their involvement
The victim's two children, a 22-year-old girl and a 19-year-old boy, were arrested in the Rouen region. Already known to the police, they would have admitted their involvement in the murder while in police custody before being imprisoned.
-The man's body, identified by his tattoos, was wrapped in bags and hidden under a cabinet filled with dirt. The victim was the subject of a report for a worrying disappearance since June 2021, in Narbonne. According to a source close to the investigation, the body had a fatal wound in the abdomen. The motive for the crime could be linked to acts of sexual assault and violence that the man allegedly committed on his children when they were minors. The results of the autopsy, awaited, should clarify the exact circumstances of death.
