Several indicators show a decline in French people's concern about climate change since 2022. According to the Obs'COP survey for EDF, conducted by Ipsos in 30 countries and published in November 2024, climate change certainly occupies an important place among the areas of concern in France, ranking in fourth position.

But the share of respondents saying they are “very concerned” fell from 35% to 29% between 2022 and 2024, below the global average (40%). “This questions, recognizes Didier Witkowski, director of studies at EDF. Our hypothesis is that we are in a phase of habituation or relativization given geopolitical tensions and the issue of purchasing power, which remains very structuring. »
