MISS – When Miss France 2024 flies to the aid of Miss France 2025. After the controversy over the comments made by Angélique Angarni-Filopon on January 8 on Sud Radio, about Charlie Hebdo, Ève Gilles wanted to defend her in an interview given to Parisian this Friday, January 17.

“It was clumsy in the way it was approached and how it was perceived. What she meant was that she didn’t want to comment because it’s a touchy subject in reality and we know that a Miss France must remain neutral.commented the former Miss France. “For me, she just didn’t know what she should answer and she preferred not to make a mistake”she adds.

“The exercise is each time finding the words to not hurt anyone and remain neutral, because that is what we are asked to do”explains Ève Gilles to Parisianspecifying that“we can express ourselves but we must remain neutral in politics or religion (and that) the goal is not to make propaganda for anyone”.

Wednesday January 8, Angélique Angarni-Filopon was the guest of Sud Radio. At the microphone, Miss France 2025 had chosen to “not to comment”questioned about the Charlie Hebdo attacks of January 2015 in the show by Valérie Expert and Gilles Ganzmann. And this in the middle of a week of commemorations and tributes to the victims of the terrorist attack.

On Instagram on January 10, Miss France 2025 reacted via a press release. “ In my role as Miss France, I owe myself neutrality on certain subjects to avoid any misunderstandings and arouse any controversies. But I understand that my non-reaction on such a sensitive subject could have sparked so many comments,” she admitted. She then clarified her position on the Charlie Hebdo attack.

“Obviously it would be an aberration to think that I could condone such barbaric acts which leave families in mourning”she explained. “Charlie Hebdo touches on profound issues and obviously, freedom of expression is essential in France. I strongly condemn these terrorist acts which are an attack on the fundamental values ​​of our society, in particular freedom, tolerance and respect. »
