Since Wednesday January 15, the Parcoursup platform has been open. Final year students and retraining students have until March 13 to express their wishes.
It's time for the Gapençais students at the Dominique Villars high school, Place Verdun, to express their career wishes.
Since Wednesday January 15, they can broadcast up to ten wishes and files can be modified until April 2. The first responses will arrive from June 2.
A lack of information on Parcoursup?
Among high school students in their final year at Gap, making a choice is not necessarily easy.
Some find themselves a little helpless when it comes to how the platform works, like Emma: “My main teacher didn’t talk to us about it, it’s complicated for me at the moment. Parcoursup's algorithm is very poorly done, we only have two weeks to choose our wishes.”
Fears shared by Alexandre. The latter does not mince his words regarding the Parcoursup site:
“I find that the establishment and my teacher don't inform us enough. The Parcoursup system is scary, it's poorly done. I don't understand how they want it to work, if their site is already just poorly done, I can't find any other words.”

The pressure on top of the baccalaureate
For some, this new step towards their future is a stress added to that of the baccalaureate, the tests of which are beginning next June 16.
“We have to act very quickly, there is the baccalaureate and lots of things at the same time,” explains Sarah, in her final year at Dominique Villars high school. We are afraid of making the wrong choice and having regrets later.
A pressure that Mélissa would have done well without:
“My choice is very selective, I'm afraid of not being taken. It should ensure that there is less pressure for the students, especially since we will have the results at the same time as we take the baccalaureate.”
A system that works
On the contrary, other students find that the Parcoursup platform has improved over time.
Fayah, who leans more towards an IT major after high school, does not share the same feelings as these comrades: “I think that in recent years, it’s really well done, with the card, I think it’s good.”
A feeling also felt by Mélissa: “It's quite intuitive, it's much more guided and we understand better. We have several courses to inform us. This week is orientation, we can register for events.”
In 2024, almost 945,000 applications were submitted on the Parcoursup platform, according to the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
