Just before New Year's Eve, Rappel Conso launches an alert to consumers regarding a batch of oysters sold in all Lidl stores in France, due to an incorrect expiration date.
A vast recall campaign was launched throughout France following an alert issued by the Rappel Conso website concerning a batch of size 3 Normandy oysters sold in all Lidl stores in France. The latter would display an incorrect expiration date on the packagingposing a health risk to consumers.
The product concerned is a batch of fine Normandy oysters of caliber No. 3 sold under the Cultimer Producteurs Associés brand packaged in 2 kilogram trays or 24 pieces. The batch number is as follows : 3700096607158. According to the government agency, it was marketed by the German brand between December 23, 2024 and December 26 throughout France.
The displayed use-by date – at the origin of the recall – is incorrect. This is fixed at January 31, 2025 whereas oysters can only be kept for a few days after they come out of the water.
Consumers in possession of this product are invited to return it to the point of sale or destroy it in order to obtain a refund.
