It’s a rhythm that imposes itself on many temporary exhibitions. The end of the fall exhibitions to make way for a new series to be discovered soon. So here is the last days or weeks to take advantage of the major museum events of the North and Pas-de-Calais.

Lille

• At the Palace of Fine Arts : “Raphaël Experience”, an intimate exhibition reveals the extraordinary wealth of the museum's reserves and allows us to understand part of the genius of Raphael's painting (early 16th century).
  Raphaël Experience: Lille Palace of Fine Arts, Place de la République until February 17, 2025.

• Hospice Comtesse : Room 207. When the drama of a 7-year-old boy confronted with a multiple crime in which his father is one of the victims, is transformed after 40 years of denial into a dreamlike quest through photography. An exhibition proposed by the Institute of Photography Outside Its Walls.
  32 rue de la Monnaie (until February 2).

• Galerie Renard-Hacker : Cadence, with cross works by Dodeigne and Mahjoub Ben Bella, the gallery puts on the market very beautiful pieces by these 2 artists who have Tourcoing in common.

Roubaix

• Swimming Pool Museum: “Eugène Dodeigne, a retrospective II”. The public success of this exhibition goes so far as to astonish its designers themselves since the museum records attendance similar to that of the major Chagall exhibition seen in 2023, just a year ago. It presents a transversal vision of the work of an artist who masters all artistic genres (from drawing to painting, architecture and design). With an exceptional ability to fly over all shapes of the sculpture. A “ghost exhibition” from the covid period reproduced in an improved version.
  Rue de l’Espagne until January 12, 2025.

Tourcoing

• The Arab World Institute (IMA). From the writing of the first pages of the Koran to street art, the exhibition offers and stages a meditation on writing and calligraphy. Writing letters is both a drawing and a way of communicating.
  Write or calligraphy until January 19, 2025, IMA 9 rue Gabriel Péri.
• Le Fresnoy and the MUba. The two major institutions respond to and complement each other, presenting Panorama 26 at the National Studio of Contemporary Arts with the evocative title “Any resemblance to reality is not a pure coincidence”. 50 new works in the field of image and sound. While two artists trained at Fresnoy join the permanent collections of the MUba. Gregor Bozic the Slovenian and Léonard Martin the Parisian.

Lens

• At the Louvre-Lens museum, we must take advantage of the last days of the “Exiles” exhibition. The museum hosts a wide-ranging exhibition which illustrates a thousand and one stories of forced escapes across the world and through the ages. An exhibition to see for the masterpieces it brings together and for the story it tells through the eyes of the artists. Until January 20, 2025.
  We will take the opportunity to take a look at the Galerie du Temps, reopened with 200 new works (but you will have to devote a full visit to it) and at the astonishing exhibition dedicated to the Beninese artist Roméo Mivakannin who copies and reinterprets the great works of the Louvre to reinject the black figure.

Sars-Poteries

• Musverre,in the village of glassmakers, “Too full”. How the society of abundance and waste can lead to overflow and rejection. In 18 works from all over the world, made by as many artists who use the material glass for its flexibility and beauty to allow a relentless denunciation of a society.
  Musverre at Sars-Poterie until January 5, 2025.

Calais

• City of lace and fashion.Find the first monographic exhibition dedicated to Japanese fashion designer Yuima Nakazato, a 30-year-old fashion designer who also explores new textile technologies. His creations, superbly highlighted by a scenography and lighting which make them iconic, dazzle visitors.
  Until January 5, 2025, City of lace and fashion.
