A young firefighter shot Monday evening in a bar in Ajaccio has died, announced Tuesday the prosecution, which favored the “track of a private dispute” after this news item in which six other people were injured.
According to the first elements of the investigation, a man who was inside the establishment “le Lamparo”, a seaside bar, opened fire around 11:30 p.m. against another person who frequented the bar, specified Nicolas Septe, the public prosecutor of Ajaccio, in a press release.
“The idea of a private dispute that occurred within the establishment between the perpetrator of the gunshots and the deceased victim is currently the theory favored by the investigators, although no other idea can be excluded. “right away,” he added.
Four injured people were treated on site and three others presented themselves to the emergency room. One of the injured, the young firefighter, in an absolute emergency, died Tuesday as a result of his injuries, according to the prosecution.
A criminal judicial investigation was opened at the end of the day for “attempted murder and murder”, and entrusted to the interdepartmental direction of the national police of Corsica-du-Sud.
“At this stage the person identified as the perpetrator is believed to be around forty years old and is actively sought by the judicial police,” added the prosecution.

On the night of November 15 to 16, the boss of Lamparo was hit by two shots in the leg in front of his establishment, without his life being in danger. A man was remanded in custody for attempted homicide.
Tuesday evening, the prefect of Corsica-du-Sud issued a two-month closure order for Lamparo, stressing that the “management of this business constitutes a source of serious disturbances to public order due to criminal and misdemeanor acts which took place there” and that “the risk of reprisals is significant”.
