The verdict is finally in. Among the eleven candidates, compared to five during the legislative elections last July, who submitted their candidacy to the prefecture this Friday, December 20, 2024, the New Popular Front (NFP) will only present one in Grenoble.

An LFI candidate will represent the NFP in the partial legislative election

For the partial legislative of the 1re constituency of theIsèrewhich will take place on Sundays January 12 and 19, 2025, the various left-wing parties have in fact united behind the candidacy of Lyes Louffs (LFI).

As a reminder, the position has been vacant since mid-October following the resignation of the former Insoumis Hugo Prevostaccused of sexual violence.

A standoff between LFI and the PS

However, it was far from won. And for good reason. Approached to represent the NFP, Lucie Castets ultimately did not run in the partial legislative election in Isère, the latter not wishing to collaborate with LFI.

For his part, the PS had strongly contested the choice of an LFI candidate, constantly asserting that only a personality from their party could make it possible to retain the territory. Before finally retracting.

Béranger and Adam return, 3 independent candidates

Among the 10 other candidates, we find the name of Rémi Adamfrom Lutte Ouvrière, who had already presented himself in the previous election. At Les Républicains, Nathalie Bérangerdefeat from 1is tour last summer, is a candidate again. Hervé Gerbi presents itself as “Divers Center” and Gaëlle Offranc-Piret“Equinox”. Camille Galliard-Minier is in the running under the label Ensemble pour la République.
